My mother bought this new Honda C90 but fell off at the traffic lights when she braked too hard, so I had it after that. Great for commuting to college, otherewise not a motorbike to be seen anywhere near. Served it's purpose though.

1977-8
I traded in the C90 for a brand-new Suzuki GT250. Good bike until I didn't notice that the 2-stroke oil was running out and the thing seized. Took it to the local dealer's and traded it for a bike I saw in the window...

I wanted to tour Europe and fancied a shaft-drive bike but couldn't afford a BMW and then the Suzuki GS850 appeared on the market and I had to have it. Served me well, very comfortable. Sold this and the Kawasaki when I left the UK to live in Germany.

Just after I'd moved to Germany, the Yamaha XJ900 came out. Similar to the GS850 with a top speed over 200kmh although the fastest I dared push it to was 195kmh (on the Autobahn of course). I used it for frequent trips back to the UK. Then I got married, soon a baby was on the way and a car was needed, so I sold the bike.

Now more than 20 years later, I've taken the plunge and bought a scooter!
